Roosevelt Island is one of those places you don’t notice until you force yourself to see it.
It’s always a little scary to take my gear into the elements and risk getting water on lenses or being too cold to adjust exposure/shutter speed or worst of all — accidentally slipping on ice and breaking my gear.
Snow is a big deal in DC. People stock up on essentials. Businesses shutdown. Parts of the city turn into a ghost town. And I run out into it with my camera.
